Travelling for miles during daytime is exhausting, even more so during at night. Sleepiness can catch in and this poses a lot of risks not only to the driver but also to its passengers and to the other commuting vehicles as well. There are so many road accidents that happened wherein drivers suddenly fell asleep while speeding on the highway. More often these accidents result in devastating results and can sadly lead to fatal consequences.
Motels can provide a safe haven for all tired and sleepy motorists. Unlike hotels found in or near the city, motels can be found near highways. Their existence was driven by the increased highway systems allowing people who do cross-country travels around the United States to find a good place to rest.
Motels are typically single-story buildings with open walkways. They are relatively cheaper since they only provide the basic amenities. Some motels have diners that provide meals to travelers but there are some who don’t have these facilities. They can only provide housekeeping with possible television and telephone services. People can do overnight accommodations without spending a lot of money. The affordable rates make it possible for people to stay in motels for a long time, too.
Motels promote their business by using motel neon signs. The signs make it easy to spot them at night. Weary travelers can go to these places to catch some rest and get some precious sleep. The striking motel neon signs can be seen from long distances and offer a respite for motorists for the long journey that they have made or are going to make. The signs are usually big to make them more eye-catching.
