One of Joar Ulsom's sled dogs, a Polar Husky, is bred to endurance and the ability to pull heavy loads, according to Ulsom. The dogs will pull sleds weighing more than 1000lbs over a distance of 2000 miles on the three month trek from Nome to Kaktovik, Alaska.
