Frigid Winter Provides Access to Spectacular Lake Superior Ice Caves.

Thousands of visitors make the 1 mile hike to view fantastic ice formations in the mainland sea caves at Apostle Islands National Lakeshore in northern Wisconsin. For the first time in 5 years, Lake Superior is frozen solid enough to allow foot traffic to the caves, and for the last several weeks a constant stream of visitors has made the trek.
